History of computer in brief
The history of computer started in long long ago , First people used their fingers and toes as counting aids by 650 B.C. The Egyptians were using a system of hieroglyphic, sand, cave, or wall picture to depict numbers. The problem here was that they were not portable and very limited.
Soon, people started using pebbles to count their possessions. There are a number of calculating device invented. some of the devices are following.
1. ABACUS (1200 A.D)
The ABACUS was invented by Chinese nearly 2000 years before. This was first and simple calculating device.
it consists of beads threaded on wires to show the numbers. It had two wires with five beads on each one. That's why this is also called bi-unique device. According to modern research the the inventor of the devices is known as "Lee Kai Chen".
2. Napier Bones ( 1550 - 1617)
This device was originally invented by "John Napier Bones", who was Scotland scholar mathematician. It was mainly used for multiplication process easily. The Napier rods were arranged in such a way that made it possible to fit them together into a multiplication table.
3. Blaise pascal ( 1642 )
A France mathematician "Braise Pascal" invented this calculating device to assist his accounting work. The machine worded using toothed wheels which was capable to add and subtract numbers.
But couldn't multiply or divide. That's why this machine was also called as "Adding machine". The odometers that keep track of mileage in modern automobiles are based on the pascal's machine.
4. Slide Rule ( 1662 )

A German mathematician "William Oughtred" invented this gadget to improve the logarithmic processing easier.
Basically, this device had two fix strip and slides equally backward and forward to complete the logarithmic process. Over the years, these machine were copied and improved. Latter of 20th century this was almost outdated and became less popular.
5. Leibniz's Calculator (1671)
In the decade of 1671, a German mathematician and great philosopher "Gottfried von leibniz" invented a machine by improving earlier "Adding Machine" is known as Leibniz's calculator. This machine was capable to perform addition and division.
6. Jacquard's loom (1801 )
A woven pattern on cloth was used to make by lowering( bring below) threads (yarn) of of many hues( color) in each column in woven cloth. A actually this process was very complicated.
So, to simply and automate this process Jacquard's Loom was introduced. He used punch card that was controlling the movement of the threads by holes in punch cards.
7. Difference Engine ( 1822 )
This machine was invented by "Charles Babbage" a England mathematician. He introduced this machine to perform algebraic calculation and store data.
This machine had shaft and gear, vapor presser was necessary to run this machine. He was trying to make machine that could control itself, make its own decision, and own mechanism for input and output process of data.
8. Analytical Engine (1833 )

To remove the previous problem of machine, a brilliant mathematician "Lady Ada Lovelace" introduced special number system for Babbage's Machine.
It was called as "Binary Numbers System" Which was able to use the data systematically. For this reason she was regarded as first programmer.
